Mailing Lists and Groups

• The Yahoo Hen's Nest is probably the most popular group out there for owners of the Peep and other Reuben Trane Hen designs. You'll find a mailing list there, as well as archived pictures and photos from group members.
• The Shallow Water Sailors are a group of sailors who like shoal draft boats like Dovekies, Shearwaters, and yes, Peep Hens. They share information, organize rgoup sailing outings in different parts of the US, and generally just enjoy boats. The Hen Boat Manual can be found on their site.

Publications

• Messing About In Boats is a quirky little biweekly that's been published regulalrly for the past 23 years. Each issue is packed with travels news, reports on boat building projects, and annoucements of new designs. Phil Bolger has a regular column, too, in which he discusses boat design- a bit like his old SBJ column. Almost every issues contains one or more essays by noted boatbuilder and iconoclast Robb White, who can amuse and inform in surprising ways. A bargain at $28/year.
• Small Craft Advisor magazine. This delightful bimonthly is very much a successor to the lamented Small Boat Journal that folded some years ago. Each issue of SCA seems to have more interesting and useful information than the last. An absolute must for the small boat sailor.
